Through the USAID Energy Secure Philippines (ESP) project, we are actively leading efforts to facilitate USD750 million in private sector investment to stimulate 500 MW in new generation capacity, while also improving utility performance and strengthening grid resilience across the country.
This investment mobilization is built on a foundation of rigorous technical and financial project development. We have successfully prepared feasibility studies for utility-scale ventures, including 30 MWp and 50 MWp solar-PV power projects for SunAsia Energy, Inc. and multiple renewable energy systems for clients like MORE. Our strategic involvement in the USAID B-LEADERS Project (2014-2018) resulted in over US$200 million in increased clean energy investments. FAPI also possesses deep expertise in the bioenergy sector, having conducted Biomass Resource Assessments across Mindanao and updated the Biomass Atlas of the Philippines, and guided clients on developing projects from bioethanol distilleries to biomass power and cogeneration systems in agro-industries.
FAPI’s competence extends beyond project-specific engineering to include strategic institutional development and global climate change initiatives. We have partnered with international bodies, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNDP, and IFC, to assess global climate mitigation portfolios, promote Energy for All Initiatives (E4ALL) across Southeast Asia, and develop market frameworks for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. Furthermore, we provide expert guidance on establishing Integrated Management Systems, helping institutions like the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) achieve ISO 14001 certification and implement GHG emission reduction measures. This global and institutional perspective ensures that every FAPI-led project not only achieves commercial viability but also meets the highest standards for environmental governance and climate sustainability.
